To join friends in ArcheAge Chronicles, first make sure you are on the same server, then use the Community interface to find your friend and send a party invitation. If you are already in a party but cannot see each other, open Community, select the Party tab and use Move Channel to join the party leader’s world channel. That final step is the specific solution demonstrated in the “Can’t See Your Friends” video.

Being connected to the same game does not necessarily put two characters into the same copy of the world. The demonstration shows party members remaining invisible to one another until their channels match. Work through server, friendship, party and channel as separate checks instead of repeatedly sending invitations without changing the underlying situation.

Check the server before changing anything else

Compare the server name chosen by each person in the group. Sharing a broad region is not sufficient if the characters are on different servers. Agree on the same server before proceeding to invitations and world-channel placement.

This is especially important when several friends started separately and only arranged their group afterwards. Confirm the server names directly rather than assuming that selecting the same broad region was enough. If the server choices differ, stop treating the issue as a channel problem and check the current official information before making a new character or expecting a transfer feature.

Find your friend through Community

The add-friends tutorial opens the interface through the game menu, while the fuller party demonstration uses the Community tab. In that demonstration, the player first locates the other character in the Friends list. Use the current client’s displayed labels to reach that list, since controls and interface details can change during Early Access.

An invitation and a friendship entry serve different purposes in the demonstrated flow. The video shows a known friend being selected before opening player information and finding the party action. If the person you need is not in the expected list, resolve that part of the process before looking for a channel-switching option that depends on an existing party.

Send the party invitation

In the demonstrated keyboard layout, selecting the friend and pressing X opens Player Info. The player then finds the party invitation option in that information panel. Treat X as the control shown in that recording, rather than a guarantee that a remapped keyboard or controller interface uses the identical input.

After sending the invitation, make sure the other player has actually joined the party. The important test is whether you can see the party membership in the interface, not merely whether you clicked an invitation action. The channel fix in the source is shown after the presenter is already grouped with two friends, which separates successful party formation from successful world placement.

Use Move Channel when party members are invisible

Open Community, choose the Party tab and look for Move Channel. The recording shows that action moving the presenter onto the party leader’s channel. His party members then become visible in the open world, demonstrating why the button matters even after a party invitation has succeeded.

After Move Channel, look for your friends’ characters near the agreed meeting point. A correct party list establishes membership, while visible characters show that you have reached the same world instance. If those checks disagree, investigate the channel and location before sending another invitation.

Understand what a world channel changes

The channel explanation describes channels as separate instances of an area within a server. Two players can therefore be in the same general location on the same server while occupying different world copies. This is the context behind the party demonstration’s otherwise confusing situation, where friends were grouped but could not see one another.

A chat channel is a different interface concept and should not be confused with that world placement. Changing where a message is sent does not demonstrate that your character has moved into the same instance as a friend. Follow the Party tab’s demonstrated Move Channel action when addressing the specific visibility problem described here.

Keep channel rules in mind

The pre-launch channel explanation also distinguishes standard and PvP channels. It presents channel selection as affecting the kind of player interaction you enter, not just whether your friends are nearby. Before moving, discuss the intended activity with your party rather than assuming that every channel is interchangeable for every purpose.

The same explanation contains test-era numbers and plans, which should not automatically be treated as current Early Access guarantees. This guide uses it to clarify the server-and-channel relationship, while taking the concrete joining procedure from the direct interface demonstration. It does not claim a current population cap, experience bonus or reward system based solely on the earlier commentary.

Separate open-world grouping from dungeon instances

The channel materials discuss player- or party-specific instances as well as open-world channels. Those are a reminder that seeing a party list does not, by itself, explain every boundary the game may place around an encounter. Check whether you are trying to meet in the open world or after entering a separate activity before applying the demonstrated fix.

Another development commentary describes earlier problems with parties and dungeon instances, but discusses changes rather than proving every later outcome. Do not assume that a planned fix has already resolved the exact behaviour you are encountering. If the open-world channel step works but an activity still separates the group, describe that distinction when checking official notices or asking for help.

A useful checklist before reporting a problem

For a support report, note the server, leader, invitation status and whether you used Move Channel. Add the meeting location and whether either character entered a separate activity. This describes the point at which the group separated instead of reporting only that a friend is invisible.

If the demonstrated sequence works, the immediate task is complete: you have joined the party and can find its members on the same world channel. If it does not, keep the failed step clear instead of repeating unrelated settings changes or creating a character unnecessarily. The available recording supports a specific joining workflow, not a promise that every multiplayer problem can be repaired by one button.
